Her Story

Nyandrea Dyer

She was a young woman with a full life ahead of her, until a gunfight she had nothing to do with took it. NAH 11 exists because that ending is not where her story stops.

Nyandrea Dyer as a young girl, smiling and posing mid-dance on a front porch
Nyandrea, full of movement, joy and possibility.

Nyandrea was caught in the crossfire in Chicago. Her family refused to let grief be the last chapter.

Out of that loss came a commitment: build the things that keep young people safe, seen and supported. Safe places to dance. Adults who show up every week. Scholarships that turn a maybe into a plan. Blocks where neighbors know each other's names.

NAH 11 carries her initials and her number forward. Every program we run answers a simple question: what would have made a different night possible for her, and what will make a different night possible for the next girl?

"We remember her by changing what happens next."
